Some small changes around the house
In kitchen news we finally picked a new wall color to replace the orange. We decided on “Volcanic Ash” by Olympic paints. I couldn’t find the color on-line to post, so I just took a picture of the paint sample against our white cabinets. I think it will help “cool” the kitchen and make it look a little more sophisticated. It is pretty dark, but since it is only going on one wall it should look nice and clean against the stainless and white. Cross your fingers for me - I should be painting this weekend!
Here is a picture of our new kitchen fixture! I bought it on Saturday at an estate sale. It will be up later this week, but I was so excited I took a picture of it on the floor…
In living rooms news there are two new tables. We replaced the glass circle table with a long and low surfboard style to have a little more space (it’s also way easier to keep clean). The end table has a nice “pocket” so it works well as a great catch all for Samson’s books and toys.

Your sofa is really cute. Vintage or new?
Thanks, It is the Corona line from Macy’s!
Orly? I may have to go see it. Retro Renovation did something on that one, right?
As a side note, I am delurking to say that I love your home, it makes me homesick for the Midwest (raised in KC, relocated to Florida, which I hate)!
Aww Florida has some great modern too! Check out Macy’s. They really do have a surprisingly good selection. Thanks for de-lurking! I really appreciate your comments!
I like it, I LIKE IT ALL. Like the art over the bed, I like the lamp, I like the sofa tables… Can I move in?
Have a great weekend. My bathroom is leaking, so I know what I shall do…
I love that faucet. Good choice, although I personally get tired of chrome real quick, it has an awesome shape! And that new light fixture is absolutely awesome!! True Mid Century
That lamp will own the room. It will start conversations and become a valued member of the family.
