Mirror Me
I’ve been putting off the bathrooms for just too long. Unfortunately, due to budget restraints, we can not re-tile, so the pink stays. What I am currently working on is the vanity. I would like a new mirror, sink and vanity base. So far we’ve completed replacing the toilet and wall fixtures. Today I went to Expo Design Center in hopes of finding everything in one place, but came back with new rugs instead. Anyway, I think I’m going with a poured counter top/sink combination-possibly in Corian or Silestone. Just a white top, but the vanity base needs to be replaced as well. Apparently this kitchen line can be made into a bathroom vanity. Very neat. Any help would greatly be appreciated. It comes in many color combinations too. In the meantime, here are some before pictures while I decide…

Please reconsider getting rid of the awesome pink bathroom! That tile is amazing, and the floor, wow, it is so unique. The sink and vanity are so darling. I can just imagine sitting down and getting all dolled up. If you modernized it, it would probably be outdated before long and it would never be as unique as it is now.
Love the lights, though, love the teardrop mirror and so much of what you’ve done with your house. Check out retrorenovation.com for an impassioned plea on saving pink bathrooms. I actually thought that was where I found your site.
aw, I think it looks cute the way it is.
I guess I forgot to mention that the sink does have a crack in it and the faucet leaks. The pink tile will stay (along with the matching tub). I did however, decide not to replace the vanity base, but get a new sink, mirror and faucet. I promise to retain the 50’s integrity! So, pink it will remain!
I love your vintage vanity and I’ve been eyeing those lights from Restoration Hardware for a while now… they look great!
If it’s any comfort at all: your bathroom is a DREAM compared to mine! We just moved and there’s bunch of stuff in the bathtub. But when it’s gone I’m gonna take a picture!
It’s mintgreen… with plastic walls…
The bathroom is great! I think what your bathroom needs is some great atomic looking wallpaper like http://www.bradbury.com/atomic.html
