Faucet Fiasco
We ordered our new sink today! After two trips to Expo and countless hours of internet searching, we finally closed the deal. We got just a simple white Onyx top to match the white vanity base. It had to be a poured sink because we are not planning on re-tiling the wall and there is a weird lip in the front. For pictures please see my previous bathroom post. I am so excited! Still to do: replace the stool with a white Bertoia chair. *if it fits*, get a new shower curtain, new soap holders, new mirror, new vanity pulls and last but not least, new faucet! I spent literally three hours last night looking for the right faucet and I still can’t click the “buy” button yet. I decided to stick to the big sites - Lowes, Home Depot, Restoration Hardware and Kohler.com- everything else makes my head hurt from the endless options. So, here are some of the finalists. I would love to know what sites I am missing, so please share any information you have. My sink is super low (real vintage vanity style) so I think we are going to go with a gooseneck spout to get a little more space. I have bathroom on the brain, so please share!
Saarinen Style
I’ve had my Burke dining set for sometime now and have always used the companion chairs. I’m mostly a white on white, which is why Saarinen and Bertoia dining sets appeal to me so much, but I found some great examples of Saarinen and Saarinen style tables matched with an eclectic mix of chairs. I know the modern- bohemian look has been around for a while, but I found these dining examples to be pretty inspiring. Maybe I will shake things up a little.
I really like this first one with the marble top tulip table. It just looks so warm and cozy. The set-up is a lot like mine too with the sitting area right there. The table can easily have multiple uses when not used for eating.
I wish I had room for an oval one! I could do without the rug, but I love the black chairs with the long white table.
I just thought this as a really clean, simple design. It just looks so relaxed and inviting.
I really like how rich the room feels. I just love the grayish/greenish walls. I would’ve never guessed that is an Ikea table from the photo. The life saver stool is a fun touch too.
